It took us 45 minutes to get a booth and another 30-40 minutes for the food. But the reward? The Chicken Parmigiana my wife ordered was equally impressive and deserves a similar accolade.

The pizza and lasagna here are both fantastic. The plain pie with sauce, Parmesan, and garlic had a crispy, thin crust and was absolutely delicious. The lasagna portion was generous enough for two meals, and they also provide a full loaf of homemade bread with your order.

This spot exudes a cool, old-school Italian charm, with a warm and welcoming staff. The food was divine, and the Roseland special pie, featuring homemade sausage, is the clear standout. While Portnoy gave it an 8.6, I’d personally rate it an 8.1—not my absolute favorite, but still an excellent pizza.

Living in New York City, I know my opinion might ruffle some feathers, but this is one of the finest pizzas you’ll find in the Northeast. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and grab a pie. I’m a fan of a thin, crisp crust that cracks when folded, and this pizza nails it. The taste is incredible, without the grease of a typical NYC slice. Beyond the pizza, the meatballs are outstanding, and everything on the menu is excellent. Just a heads-up: weekends can mean a long wait for dine-in, but trust me, it’s worth it.

I’ve been eager to try this place for ages, and now that I have, I’m thrilled—it’s officially my favorite spot. The pizza is phenomenal, with outstanding flavors, a perfect char, and an incredibly thin crust. Roseland absolutely belongs in the same league as the giants of New Haven pizza, and in my opinion, surpasses them.
